I love rainy weekends to read books!

Two books that I recently read (probably reread) were Tommy Tenney’s God’s Dream Team and Derek Prince’s Spiritual Warfare.  Allow me to share some gems that I gleaned from these authors.

  • Our assignment is to administer the victory, demonstrate the triumph, and exercise the authority that Jesus has won on our behalf.  The world can only see Christ’s victory when we demonstrate it.
  • Through the blood of Jesus, I am redeemed, out of the hand of Satan.  Through the blood Jesus, all my sins are forgiven.  The blood of Jesus cleanses me from all sins.  Through the blood of Jesus, I am justified, made righteous, just-as-if-I’d never sinned.  Through the blood of Jesus, I am sanctified, made holy, set apart to God.  I am no longer in Satan’s territory.  Redemption, forgiveness, cleansing, justification, sanctification, are mine, all through the blood of Jesus.  Thank you, Jesus, for your blood!
  • The Bible says that if one can put a thousand to flight, then how many can two put to flight?  God’s math is multiplication.  Two can put 10,000 to flight, three can put 100,000 to flight and four can put a million to flight.  How many can six put to flight?  No less that 100 million -100 MILLION!  Lord, help us six American teachers at Destino to walk in heavenly agreement and earthly agreement, so that we will have power over the demonic forces holding back Your Kingdom here in Honduras!
  • One place in Scripture a blessing is commanded. In Psalm 133 we read, “Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell in unity!  It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments.  It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the LORD COMMANDED THE BLESSING – life forevermore. Doesn’t that make you want to get in step with the unity of God?
  • How many deliverers were born – and lost- over the last 2,000 years because there were no woven baskets of unity to carry them safely to their destiny?  How many perished before their time with their gifts and calling untapped for lack of protective baskets?  This reminds me of how God is weaving baskets at Destino to save delivers, the future Christian leaders of this country and abroad!  What a privilege to be woven together with Rhonda, Sheena, Jenna, Bethany, Nicole, Tori, the Honduran teachers and pastors, the bus drivers, the cooks, the construction workers and cleaners, the sponsors, the dental and mission teams and more into a basket trustworthy enough to save a deliverer, lots of deliverers!
  • When we can say with Mary, “Be it unto me according to Thy word,” dreams can be born.
  • Disunity births Church death; flesh death births unity.  Oh God, death to disunity!  Life to Your Body!
  • Broken hearts prevent broken bones.    Let our hearts be broken like Your heart, that there be no division among us.
  • There is not room in the Church for spirits of competition or division but there is still a lot of room for servants.  My kingdom go, Thy kingdom come.
  • Help us to remember that we are children of the same Father and Bride of the same Bridegroom.
  • Agreement is coming together in agreement with God.

Karla, a 4th grader at Destino, is one of the deliverers that God has saved.  Here, she is showing the medal she was given for winning third place for her grade in a local Spelling Bee for all the bilingual schools in Siguatepeque.
